Tribal Matters

 

We are experienced at negotiating and working with Native American tribes in the context of the ESA and other resource-related issues.    

 

• Rincon San Luiseño Habitat Conservation Plan. Since 2003, we have represented the Rincon San Luiseño Band of Mission Indians (Rincon) on endangered species matters.  We successfully assisted Rincon in obtaining an exclusion of their 4,100-acre Reservation from critical habitat for the arroyo toad and southwestern willow flycatcher.  We are currently developing a multiple-species HCP for the Reservation as well as a natural resource protection ordinance for tribal habitat preserves.
